                About Troop 98

Where to meet- 7311 Mill Grove Rd, Indian Trail, NC 28079 United States

What time to be there- Monday nights from 7:00-8:30 pm

We meet year round, throughout the school year and summer vacation. The only exception is we don't meet on days off from school during the school year for things such as holidays, teacher work days, ect.

We follow the North Carolina Union County Public School schedule

Here at Troop 98 we strive to make boys leaders and better people each and every week. We remember that the mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

We are located in the Central NC Council and do fun trips and activities yearly. We regularly attend Camp John J. Barnhardt's events which is our councils Boy Scout Camp, as well as our own activities. We have a good groups of boys and a long line of Eagle Scouts. We welcome any boys ages 11 through 17 to the troop and hope to see new members every year. Boys age out of scouting once they turn 18.

Merit Badges

Merit badges are a fundamental part Boy Scouts that every scout partakes in. There is a wide variety of Merit Badges that teach lots of useful skills and information. To achive the rank of Eagle Scout you must have at least 21 Merit Badges, 14 of which must be Eagle required badges. Eagle required badges are some of the hardest to get, but teach some of the most valuable information and skills. You can tell the difference between normal badges and Eagle required badges by the color of the outside rim of the badge. Normal badges have a green rim while Eagle required badges have a silver rim.
